Yo

It is absolutely ridiculous the level of criticism that the NY media, including SNY heap on the Mets. As I sit here SNY is taking calls from the New Yorkers that hate on the Mets to the extreme and want them to trade Jose Reyes for Johnny Peralta and Fausto Gopherball Carmona. It's just so dumb to take calls while covering a live baseball game.

I listened to the post game show Saturday and it was the same garbage. From what they were saying you would think the Mets are the worst team in baseball and then the next night Ollie shut down the Yankees.

The media is the biggest problem the Mets have and thats real. SNY and WFAN have combined to increase pressure on the Mets players than all of their other problems. And It's not like I'm a Mets fan with a bias about this I like the BoSox.

The Mets suck. They are a .500 team, they're never gonna get over the hump this year. The Phillies are handing over the division with their shitty play, and we still can't catch them. I know when we go to Philly this weekend they're going to kick our asses again (because they have, errr - Jimmy Rollings, has heart).

I've been a Mets fan my entire life. I have lived through many miserable moments, but never been so down on the team. I do agree with you Stan, the media is to blame with the negative cloud over the team. Unfortunately, when does it stop? Probably if they begin to win, but I don't think that is likely. And even if they are in the race come September, all we are going to hear about is the collapse. Until we make it back to the playoffs, I do not see hope for the Mets. The cloud of 2007 will remain.

Couldn't agree more.

I listen to ny sports talk radio every single day from 10am-5pm. I don't really know why. I think it torments me more than actually doing my work would.

Fellas, fellas, WFAN and other media outlets have been killing the Mets for years. It's just that 2006 gave the Mets fans hope, thus the media had to portary them that way. However, they have proven to be a .500 team over the last calendar year. Having an equal RF/RA. With the hope of '06 in the rearview and the Mets being one of the oldest teams in the league it looks like they may revert back to 2001-2005 form.

they have not ever killed them the way they have this year. overanalyzing everything. beningo getting a spot on the pregame so he can complain about the mets and stir up more drama. sny taking calls to the booth so fans can complain and stir up more drama. ratings, ratings, ratings.

yeah, ratings, ratings, ratings - until September when the NFL starts and the Mets are once again, out of the race...

then what is SNY going to talk about? The demolition of Shea Stadium?

Well, I can only contribute to the WFAN part. I've been listening to the FAN for 15 years and callers always call in and complain, even during good stretches. As for the SNY broadcast I can't comment cuz I don't watch SNY, but when i heard they took calls I was blown away. What a dumb idea.
Jeezy, Beningo has been like this for years, the public is only hearing about it now because he's not doing the overnight shift anymore. One Steve Sommers got demoted they moved Beningo to the 10-1 slot first with Jody McDonald, then he had his own spot and now he's with ER.
Take it easy and turn off the FAN. Listen to Max Kellerman and Brian Kenny (10-1) and then listen to MMD (1-3) and then turn on Michael Kay 3-7. For all your hating on Kay he knows baseball well and gives an honest opinion about the Yanks and the Mets. Plus jeezy you'll love Don LaGreca, he likes the Mets and hockey.

i like beningo and roberts better than mike and the maddog. i know the history of joe beningo dont you worry, im a big fan.

my point was that hes a leader of men about doubt-hatin on the mets. and sny putting him in the pregame show was an interesting move.

ill pass on the michael kay show.
